One Piece Creator Oda Is Setting Up New Arc Without Luffy

Spoiler warning — this post discusses story or card details that are not out yet.

The idea of a new arc without Luffy as the central figure is unprecedented in One Piece, which has always revolved around his adventures and growth. As the Elbaf arc nears its climax, Luffy's potential sacrifice raises the stakes significantly. This could lead to a dramatic shift in focus towards the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies, particularly the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, who have been patiently waiting for a moment to shine since their introduction in Chapter 800.

Fans should remember that the Grand Fleet, bound by their vows to Luffy, could play a crucial role in a rescue mission if he is captured by Imu. This narrative twist could serve as a catalyst for the long-anticipated global conflict that has been hinted at throughout the series. With Luffy possibly incapacitated, characters like Zoro and Sanji will likely take on leadership roles, which could lead to exciting developments as they strategize to save their captain.

Moreover, the notion of Luffy's capture echoing Portgas D. Ace's fate adds a layer of emotional gravity to the storyline. The implications of such a scenario could mean that allies like Sabo and Boa Hancock will gather forces to confront Imu and the World Government, setting the stage for a climactic battle that could reshape the world of One Piece. As these events unfold, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on the narrative threads Oda has been weaving, as they may lead directly into the saga's final war.
